Do you have a desire to serve you community? Are you interested in helping others? Do you like to learn and work in a fast paced environment?

If you answered yes to any of these, stop by and see us. We are always looking for volunteers to help fill our ranks.

If you are interested in joining us, come to station 2900 on St. Rd. 2 and pick up an application, or download the application from the provided link. You will also get information on what the process is to be accepted on the fire department, requirements and time commitments for training, and be introduced to the people who are going to help you through the process.

Requirements:

At Least 18 Years old
Valid Drivers License
High School Diploma or equivalent
No Felonies
Willing to devote time to the organization.

What We Do:

Emergency Response to:

Fires: Structure, Vehicle, Field, etc.
Vehicle Accidents
Medical Emergencies
Special Rescue Situations
Weather Standby
Haz-mat First Response

Other Duties:

Public Education- Fire Prevention, CPR Training, Smoke Detector Program
Interact with the local community

Application Process:

Turn in completed application to Washington Fire Station 2900
Application will be reviewed to ensure basic requirements are met.
If everything is ok with the application, you will be scheduled for an interview.
If your interview goes well, you will be called to fill out additional paperwork, including a background check.

Once everything is completed and you pass each step, you will be fitted for gear.

Once fitted for gear, if you are certified as a firefighter already, you will go through an orientation and be able to start responding on calls. If you are not certified, you will be able to come to the station and attend trainings and meeting.

Your next step would then be to attend State classes to become certified as a firefighter and EMT.
